Guard shot dead, factory robbed in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, March 3 The security guard of a steel factory on the National Highway-24 in Vijaynagar of Ghaziabad was shot dead today while resisting a robbery, police said.

According to police, fifty five-year-old Rajpal Singh was shot dead and the assailants fled with computer parts, laptops and other goods valued to the tune of several lakhs.

Police said they were informed about the murder and robbery by the locals this morning.

Singh’s body was found on the spot and sent for postmortem, police said.

A resident of Kot Village in Ghaziabad, Singh had been working with the factory, owned by one Mukul Jain of Noida, for several years.

While Jain is presently out of the country, a manager of the company registered a complaint at the Vijaynagar Police Station.

Afal Singh, Station House Officer of the Vijaynagar Police Station, said, “We have found some links and eyewitnesses are being questioned. Hopefully, the case will be solved soon.”

Investigations are on , police said.
