Ahmedabad, February 3 Being on top for three consecutive years and having a 25 per cent share in total industrial investment in the country, Gujarat is poised to become a role model of growth in India, said an official release quoting Minister of Health and Tourism Jai Narayan Vyas.

Addressing the 38th annual meeting of the Gujarat Economic Association, organised by the Dr D T Lakdawala Memorial Trust, Vyas said fast growing sectors of pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture and animal husbandry were providing strength to the state's economy and new dimensions to human progress, cooperatives and dairy farming. He also took note of the strides taken by the textile industry in Surat, making it a venue full of opportunities in areas like embroidery that have become famous around the globe.
