The police took the step after receiving repeated complaints from residents about increasing cases of crime in the area.
“Palam Vihar reported 242 cases of crime between March 1, 2008, and February 28, 2009. The security guards employed in the area were from 24 Securities and were lax in carrying out their duties. There were 94 other incidents of crime reported from places like Galleria, DLF II and Sahara Mall among others, where guards from SLV Security were employed,” said S S Deswal, Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon. An employee of SLV Security, Inderjeet, said, “It’s easy for the police to pass the buck. No reason has been given to us on why the warning letter was issued. We will meet the commissioner to discuss the matter.”
