Ahmedabad The city police questioned over 20 people on Sunday, including some key suspects, in connection with the murder of city-based gynaecologist Hitesh Shah. The 40-year-old doctor was found dead in the outskirts of the city on Saturday.

“We have got some leads and are following them,” said an official of the Detection of Crime Branch, Ahmedabad police.

Tilottama Solanki (30), a former nurse at Shah’s nursing home, who was accompanying him in the car at the time of incident, is also being questioned.

“Our investigations are on. We are exploring all possible angles,” said Vejalpur police inspector R G Jadeja.

Shah had left his nursing home near Mahalaxmi crossroads in Paldi on Friday evening and found dead near Piptaj the next day. His car was found abandoned on the Sarkhej-Dholka highway.

Solanki, who stays at a workingwomen’s hostel in Paldi, told the police that Shah had offered her lift to the hostel. She said that enroute her hostel, the duo decided to go towards Vasna Barrage.

When they were “sitting” at a deserted place on the barrage campus, two masked men allegedly attacked them. While the “attackers” got hold of Shah, Solanki managed to escape, the police said.
