H1N1: Another test positive in Shimla

Shimla A 42-year-old resident of Shimla has tested positive for swine flu. He has been admitted in the special ward of Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC).

IGMC Medical Superintendent Dr Ramesh Chand said the swab samples of the patient were tested at the hospital’s laboratory and the results came positive late on Thursday.

The patient, Krishan Kumar, had no history of travel outside the state in the recent past and is said to have contracted the virus in Shimla. Other members of his family have been quarantined too.

Earlier, nine persons had tested positive for the H1N1 virus in Himachal and one of them died.
