Kolkata A day after the website of Eastern Railway was hacked, the authorities said that action would be taken against the perpetrators, but refused to divulge further information on the issue.

“We cannot disclose the details of our investigations due to security reasons. We are looking into the incident and action will be taken against those found guilty,” said Samir Goswami, Chief Public Relation Officer, Eastern Railway.

On Wednesday, the scroll section of the Eastern Railway’s official website, which usually consists of official announcements, was found flooded with messages saying Whackerz-Pakistan has declared “cyber war” against India, “Indians hit hard by Zaid Hamid” and “You are hacked”.

The messages said that it was done to avenge India’s violation of Pakistani airspace. Experts, however, claimed that it was not an incident of hacking, as none of the original website information had been distorted or changed.
