Chandigarh Police arrangements
Adequate police deployment will be made on the famous ‘geri route’ to check hooliganism. Checkposts have been set up to contain reckless driving and eve teasing. Traffic police will act tough against speeding vehicles and those riding without wearing a helmet. Women hostels will be provided with extra security. A number of special checkposts will be set up in Panchkula where all 15 police control room vehicles will be on patrol duty to check hooliganism. Panchkula SP Amitabh Dhillon said challans would be issued against people driving under the influence of liquor and other offenders would be booked under relevant sections of the IPC.

OPDs closed today
All OPDs in city hospitals, including the PGI, the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, and the Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, will remain closed on Wednesday. Emergency services will function as usual in all three hospitals.

Regulations at PU
Entry and exit to the Panjab University campus will be regulated through gate number 2 (opposite Sector 15) on Wednesday. The other two gates will remain closed. Authorities have advised the staff and students to carry their identity cards to avoid inconvenience.

Throw balloons; apply colours; waste water and don't ever forget to take advantage when you get one. If you get arrested say we are following Indian traditions and this arrest spoils the spirit of Holi!
