Pune Harbinger Group, the global provider of software products and services, today unveiled its vision as well as its plans for new product development, market expansion and recruitment.

"Over the years, Harbinger has emerged as a market leader in e-learning, where it first applied its innovations in interactivity. The company now plans to spread its technology to wider applications such as presentations and web development," stated a company release. Despite the challenges before the IT industry, Pune-based Harbinger continues its commitment to innovation.

The company has already set up several product teams which will continue to enhance Harbinger’s interactivity technology platform and build new applications. The company also has set up a strong technology incubator team. This team will monitor the latest technology landscape, prototype new ideas and carry out R&D.

“Interactivity is a key enabler to effectively communicate ideas. Harbinger’s next-generation technology unlocks the potential of interactivity for its wide use. This is happening for the first time ever”, stated Vikas Joshi, chairman & managing director of the Harbinger Group.

Harbinger plans to consolidate its market leadership in e-learning for its products. The company also plans to make a strategic entry in new market segments. To execute this strategy, Harbinger has set up three business lines. These consist of learning solutions, presentation solutions and web development solutions.

The company is getting its senior management ready to handle multidimensional growth. In 2008, Harbinger Group recruited staff across levels, taking its global headcount up 20 per cent to 360. Next year, the company plans to take its global headcount to 450. In the current fiscal year, the company expects 70 per cent growth in revenue, which it aims to maintain next fiscal year. To effectively prepare for this growth, Harbinger has expanded its Baner office by 10,000 sq ft which adds 160 seats to its existing capacity. The company has also opened an office in UK to effectively cater to its clients in Europe.

“We are laying the groundwork to grow our global user-base ten-fold in the next 3 to 5 years. We believe our product business will be a crucial driver for Harbinger’s non-linear growth”, said Joshi.
