“We arrested Robin on Wednesday night and are now trying to trace the other accused in the case,” said Assistant Sub-Inspector Balbir Singh.
The court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Lakshman Singh, where he was taken to on Thursday morning, has remanded him in police custody for one day.
The case dates back to February 13, 2007, when Harish Narang was beaten up while campaigning in the Jawahar Nagar Camp area. Robin, his father Raj Mehra, Bittu and six unidentified persons were then booked by the police on charges of attempt to murder under Sections 307, 323, 148 and 149 of the IPC. While Raj Mehra was granted bail in the case, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had cancelled Robin’s bail application.
