Saying that the government’s was deeply concerned about youth education and employment in today’s competitive scenario, Gaur suggested that the traditional set up of education be revamped, giving utmost priority to science, commerce and computer education.
Saying that computer education would be made compulsory for students, Gaur said the step would be implemented first in 25 government colleges from the next academic session. Regular faculty would also be provided to private colleges, he said.
Rajan Gupta, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Education, said on the occasion that the state government was considering a proposal to start + 1 and +2 science classes in the private colleges under self-financing scheme. He said that with a view to improve the management and upgrade education in government schools, the private colleges need to come forward to adopt at least one school each. HNGCPA president Dr Desh Bandhu stated that more than 100 principals from all over the state participated in the conference.
