Gurgaon Municipal Corporation authorities have been directed by the Haryana Finance Minister to remove all encroachments on public property, at a grievance committee meeting here on Saturday.

Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh directed the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon to issue notices to encroachers, warning them that either they should remove the encroachment themselves within the stipulated time frame or action will be initiated against them.

He said that in future if any encroachment on public property is reported, the local officials concerned will be held accountable. According to Rajeev Sharma, municipal commissioner, out of a total of 32 parks in Gurgaon, a survey has found that illegal activities are being carried out in three and notices for these have been issued to the offenders.
