Anurag Aggarwal, Managing Director, DHBVN said the steering committee for R-APDRP constituted by the Union Ministry of Power has cleared a project of Rs 46.33 crore for Hisar and of Rs 1.07 crore for Ellenabad in Sirsa district.

The DHBVN has submitted projects for 16 towns, at a cost of Rs 107.77 crore, which are likely to be approved by the steering committee, under the programme of reformation and modernisation.

Lt Gen O S Lohchab (retd), Chairman, Haryana Power Distribution and Transmission Corporations appreciated the services of Deputy General Manager (IT) Randeep Singh and the DGM (Planning) Rajneesh Garg. Aggarwal said under this project, the activity of consumer indexing, geographic information system (GIS), metering of distribution transformers feeders would be completed. The project would also include asset mapping of entire distribution network comprising of 11 KV transformers, distribution transformers, feeders, low tension lines, poles and other distribution network equipment of these towns. IT applications would be adopted for different activities of energy accounting, auditing, etc. Establishment of IT-based consumer service centres and consumer grievance system would be the major feature of the project.

He said the projects have been submitted under part A of the R-APDRP and will be completed within a period of three years. With the completion of the project on time, the full amount provided by the Central Government would be converted into grant.
