Kurukshetra Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and newly-elected SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar will be greeted with black flags and anti-Badal slogans whenever they visit any part of Haryana.

A decision to this effect was taken in an emergent meeting of the executive committee of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, which was held in the Kar Sewa Dera here today, under the chairmanship of its ad-hoc president J S Jhinda. Jhinda claimed that the Haryana SGPC would get hold of the Gurdwaras in Haryana “any day before the Parliamentary polls”.

“The date and venue of the operation of occupation of the Gurdwaras has been kept secret to avoid any trouble for Haryana government and us too,” he said. Accusing the SGPC chief of conniving with Badal, Jhinda said they had together deceived the Haryana SGPC by not holding parleys from 10 to 20 November as decided in the meeting of 7 October held in Kurukshetra, where the announcement was made by SAD leaders Prem Singh Chandumajra and D S Cheema.

He said said the Sikhs of Haryana would muster all their strength to oppose the party supported by Badal in the state. However, he did not mention the name of the INLD. He criticised CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda for “cheating the Sikhs” of Haryana by not getting a separate SGPC as promised in the party manifesto before the last assembly elections.

Jhinda did not disclose which political party the body would support in the next Parliamentary polls. Insiders say options are limited for the unit, with BSP as the only party they can possibly go to.
