Pravin was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment by sessions court last December for the murder of his elder brother and senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan in April 2006.
The argument on the appeal will start in due course before division bench of Justices S B Mhase and V K Tahilramani. In his appeal, Pravin contended that he went to meet Pramod to talk about latter’s secretary, Vivek Moitra.
Pravin in the appeal said when he realised that discussion was pointless, he decided to leave and picked up his pistol, but Pramod misunderstood and tried to grab the weapon. Shots were fired accidentally, the appeal said.
