Delivering the order a Division Bench of Justices Pranab Kumar Chattopadhyay and Md. Abdul Gani directed the Registrar General of the Calcutta High Court to communicate the order to the vice-chancellor of the university.
In the results declared in 2009, Angana secured 27 marks in the eighth paper (first half) and 21 marks in fifth paper (first half). Not convinced with the marks, she applied for review of the two papers and deposited Rs 200.
Recently she received the review result of the two answer scripts. Following this she filed a writ petition challenging the review result of the university. Today the Calcutta University placed the answer scripts before the Division Bench. Advocate Milan Chandra Bhattacharya, counsel of the student, said: “It has been proven in the court that no review was done by the university. There was no sign of the examiner in the answer script who reviewed the paper.”
It was also found that there was no signature of the examiner, who conducted the review, in the documents attached with the answer script, he said. So it substantiated that the university did not conduct any review at all, he added.
