Kolkata The three-judge Special Bench headed by Chief Justice Mohit S Shah on Wednesday reserved its verdict on the petitions of West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) on the issue of refunding the money to the students who had sought to see their answer scripts.

In 2009, two Division Benches of the High Court had passed divergent verdict on the issue. While the Division Bench of Justice Asim Banerjee had directed the council not to return the money to the students, the one headed by Justice Girish Chandra Gupta had directed it to return the fifty per cent of the amount to the students.

This led the WBCHSE to file petitions urging Chief Justice to set up a special bench to hear the cases. The Special Bench heard the arguments today after clubbing 10 such petitions.
