Kolkata The Calcutta High Court today asked the state government to come clear on whether the notification of Relief Undertaking for Dunlop would be extended.

The state government had issued a notification on June 10, 2009 under the Relief Undertaking Act for Dunlop that reportedly protected the company from the liability of its suppliers and creditors.

According to the Act, creditors or suppliers could not file any case or suit against the company if it was notified under the Relief Undertaking Act.

The notification will expire on December 9.

The various companies which supplied material to the company, had filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court last month challenging the notification of Relief Undertaking. The High Court had allowed the company to sell the finished goods only. Today the case came up for hearing.
