Chandigarh, February 4 The Punjab and Haryana High Court today allowed inspection of the entire record pertaining to the alleged manipulated HCS selections. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Vijender Kumar Jain and Justice K S Ahluwalia allowed senior advocate Mohan Jain to inspect the record of the remaining 53 candidates in the selection.

The counsels for candidates in the case will be allowed to participate in the inspection, which will be done in the presence of Joint Registrar (Judicial). The counsel, appearing for the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC), objected to the inspection of remaining records, taking the plea that the inspection of record of ten candidates, which has already been done, be perused first by the Court.

However, the Chief Justice allowed senior advocate Mohan Jain to inspect the record after Jain maintained that he was not appearing for any private person but had come in a Public Interest Litigation.

It may be recalled that the complainant in the case had alleged that those candidates who had secured less marks in the written test in the HCS selections were given more marks in the interview and vice versa.
