A total of 148 Hepatitis B cases have been reported in the last 20 days. The department had lodged an FIR against the father-son duo on Saturday after it found evidence that the two had used infected syringes, and that the clinic had no proper bio-medical waste disposal system.
Inspector RM Bhadoriya of Modasa police said: “The offence has been registered under Sections 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 278 (making atmosphere noxious to health), 304 and 114 of the Indian Penal Code. No arrests have been made so far, but the Health Department has sealed the clinic.”
