In the last nine years, the helpline has received calls from 14,245 anxious students. This year 20 trained counsellors are back to calm those pre-exam nerves. Students can call here everyday from February 1 to March 3.
Counsellors said in the past, student concerns have ranged from specific questions about an exam, to deeper anxieties about their future.
"Problems such as lack of concentration, or loss of appetite are very common in the run up to exams," said
Abdul Mabood, director of non-governmental organisation Snehi, which founded the helpline. "Sometimes students also have suicidal tendencies," he said.
More than 365 parents and relatives of tense students were helped through telephonic counselling last year.
Mabood said counselling services are free and confidential and counselling can be either telephonic or face-to-face.
Phone: 65978181.
