Chandigarh, February 29 In a major sigh of relief for over 1,300 students from Punjab who had been denied permission to take the examination for computer diplomas and courses from Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the university to allow them to take the examination.

The examinations were to commence from March 1. While issuing notices to the University, the High Court held that the final decision of the result of the examination will be subject to the decision of the petition by the High Court.

It is pertinent to not that the university had denied permission to the students after the agreement of the six distance-learning education centres in various rural areas where the students were pursuing their degrees from had ended with the University.
