Lucknow, February 4 The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court will hear Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) official Manjunath’s murder case on Tuesday.

I B Singh, the lawyer of the Manjunath Shanmugam Trust, said the case is in the weekly list.

In March 2007, the Lakhimpur District and Sessions Court had convicted the eight accused of murdering Manjunath, who had uncovered a fuel adulteration racket in Lakhimpur district.

The court had handed a death sentence to the son of petrol pump owner and main accused Pawan Kumar Mittal alias Monu, and awarded life terms to the other seven. The eight had then moved High Court.

Besides, the death sentence in the Manjunath case was also referred to the court according to the provisions of the CRPC.

IOC sales officer and IIM-L graduate Manjunath was murdered at a petrol pump at Gola Gokran in Lakhmipur district on November 19, 2005.

His body was recovered from a Maruti car in an area under the Mahauli police station of Sitapur.
