Buoyed by her party’s victory in the recently-held polls in Nandigram, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Monday slammed the Congress saying “enough is enough” referring to the possibility pre-poll alliance against the Left government.

She also met officials of the State Election Commission and demanded that “roll observers” be brought in to check mass deletion of names of her supporters from the voter list.

“Enough is enough. If you come, good. Or else, we will not be sad to go (to polls) alone. We do not want anti-Left votes to be divided in Bengal, but we will go to vote anyway. Unlike in 2006 polls, this time we will go all out in the polls,” Mamata.

Quoting Ravindranath Tagore, she said, “Jodi tor dak shune keo na ashe tahole, ekla cholo re. We will follow it.” The Trinamool chief was addressing a party rally at Esplanade.

Miffed at the alleged delay on the part of the Congress in sewing up an alliance, she said, “Enough is enough. We cannot detain this matter. What do you want to do? Detain the matter for hundred years, thousand years?”

Mamata also lashed out at the CPM for its “divide and rule” policy. “When elections come, they divide the parties in Bengal and rule. They instigate some parties and try and thwart the TMC.”

The Trinamool chief said her party’s agitation against forcible land acquisition for industries has set an example in the entire world. “The world looked up to our agitation.

The CPM government has done nothing in the name of industrialisation. We were not opposed to Jindals. What did they do there till now?

Only a few factories now are open in Uluberia industrial hub. The SEZ in Falta never came into existence,” she said.

Mamata alleged that a large number of names are deliberately struck off the electoral rolls by the ruling party. “I have demanded they should bring in roll observers in every locality where electoral rolls are being drawn up. They should also allow all people with voter identity cards to vote. CPM is deleting names from the electoral list of those who not their supporters. In my South Kolkata constituency, they deleted names of 2.5 lakh voters during the in the last elections,” she added.
