High voltage damages electrical equipment at Alankar Apartments

Panchkula, January 8 A High voltage electric charge has damaged electric appliances in nearly 22 flats at Alankar Apartments in Sector 14, Panchkula. Residents blamed lack of maintenance of transformers by the electricity department for the incident.

The electricity officials claimed that the mishap was caused by a localised fault.

“We faced major losses as many of our costly electrical appliances was damaged due to the high voltage from the transformer,” said Seema Sharma, an area resident.

Another resident GS Sangwan said the residents were facing voltage problems for some days. An official of the power utilities said, “It was a localised fault. If it was a major fault, other societies would also have been affected.”
