Surjit Singh, a resident of the locality said: “All tube lights and bulbs in our house fused. It all happened so suddenly that we got no chance to switch off the main metre.”
Narinder Bhalla, another resident said: “My TV, apart from the lights was damaged. Now, I have given it to a repair shop and have no idea about the expenses.”
Another resident of the area, P D Shastri, was upset because his washing machine was damaged due to a surge in the voltage.
The power supply in the area was also suspended for nearly an hour. It was, however, rectified after a team from the Electricity department reached the spot to repair the same.
