Widows pension in the state has been increased from Rs 350 to Rs 550 per month, benefitting 4.36 lakh beneficiaries. The state would bear an additional burden of Rs 100 crore as a result of this increase. Those suffering from 70 per cent disability would get Rs 500 per month as handicapped pension, instead of Rs 300 at present. Those with 100 per cent disability would get Rs 750 instead of Rs 600 at present.

Hooda said that the unemployment allowance for the unemployed had also been increased. Those who have passed Class XII and have studied science would get unemployment allowance of Rs 750 per month, instead of Rs 450 per month. The unemployed science graduates would get unemployment allowance of Rs 1,000, instead of Rs 750 per month.

Those girls who have passed Class XII and have studied general and science, would get unemployment allowance of Rs 900 per month instead of Rs 450 per month.

The CM announced to increase financial assistance admissible to destitute children from Rs 100 to Rs 200 per month, thus benefitting 73,000 destitute children with an additional amount of more than Rs 5 crore. There would be LTA facility for 3 lakh pensioners too, on the pattern of serving government officers.

The fixed medical allowance admissible to freedom fighters and their widows has been increased from Rs 250 to Rs 750 per month. ]
