Himal emerges as champion

Chandigarh, February 24 Himal Gosain emerged as champion in the ` which concluded at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector-44, on Sunday. Himal was tied with Abhinandan Vohra at 5.5 points after the end of final round but emerged as winner on the basis of toss. The third position in the championship went to Biswas, Sanjeev and Ashwani Nirankari, all of whom claimed 4.5 points.

Naveen Bansal, Vipan Negi, Hemant Mohta, K Ananda Kumar, Madan Lal and Simranjeet Kaur finished at the fourth spot after claiming 4 points. In the girls' under-10 category, Tarini Goyal clinched the top spot while in the boys’ under-10 category, Anubhav Tuknayat with 3 points bagged the first position. Simranjeet Kaur who claimed four points emerged as winner in the girls’ under-14 category while Tejas Nagpal with 3.5 points claimed the top spot in the boys’ under-14 category.

Tarundeep, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Bhardwaj, Dinesh Saxena and Varun Garg ended up with three points each while Manish Sehgal and Dinesh Phalswal claimed 2.5 points. Sachleen Singh, Gagandeep Joshi, Rahul Arora, Jayat and Rajni finished at two points each while Prakhar, Jasmeet and Mehak finished up with 1.5 points.

Results : 5.5 Points: Himal Gusain, Abhinanadan Vohra; 4.5 Points: Sanjeev, Biswas, Ashwani Nirankari; 4 Points: Naveen Bansal, Vipan Negi, Hemant Mohta, K Ananda Kumar, Madan Lal, Simranjeet Kaur; 3.5 Points: Swapan Kumar, Sanjeev Jain, Harinderpal Singh, Barinderpal Singh, Tejas Nagpal, Arunima Goyal, Hari Lal Sharma; 3 Points : Tarundeep, Anubhav Tuknayat , Mukesh Kumar, Akash Bhardwaj, Tarini Goyal, Dinesh Saksena ,Varun Garg ; 2.5 Points: Manish Sehgal, Dinesh Phalswal; 2 Points: Sachleen Singh, Gagandeep Joshi ,Rahul Arora , Jayat, Rajni; 1.5 Points: Prakhar, Jasmeet ,Mehak; 1 Point: Rimmy; 0 Point: Kuber, Ravinder Kumar.
