Dharamshala, February 4 A Group of HIV infected children today decided to set up an organisation that would not only work for the welfare of the HIV/AIDS infected, but also fight for their human rights and social status.

This decision was taken by children at a workshop organised by the District AIDS Control Society, in collaboration with FAX organisation, which is running a home for HIV positive children here.

Revealing this, Dr R.K. Sood said the proposed organisation would be set up very shortly.

During the workshop, as many as 25 HIV infected children from Kangra district took part in a painting competition. Those bagging positions were given cash prizes by Kangra district Chief Medical Officer J.S. Chandel.

In charge of District AIDS Control Society Dr Surinder Singh spoke about the facilities, including medicines, given free by the government to the HIV/AIDS infected, while Jitender Rana of the Human Law Network made the children aware about their human rights.

Rana vowed to fight for the rights of the HIV/AIDS infected people. Coordinator of FAX organisation Deep Mala criticised those who create social problem for the HIV/AIDS infected. She appealed to the people not to treat the HIV-infected with disdain and hostility.
