The hospital unveiled its advanced medical equipment to be used in detecting and treating the disease in infants at a press conference held here on Friday.
“Ours is the first medical institute in the region to introduce such modern and effective facility. This kind of treatment is not yet available even in big institutes like PGI and GMCH-32,” claimed Dr Neeraj Kumar, medical director of the hospital.
As per Dr Kumar, the hospital has done away with the old method of detecting jaundice in children by pricking the vein and testing the blood, which is very painful for the infants.
The hospital has now introduced a detection process by focusing lasers on the forehead of children to detect jaundice.
