Ludhiana The owners of the houses in H-Block, Sarabha Nagar, on Friday denied having constructed their houses in the park area. They claimed that MC had approved all building plans and had issued NoC to them as well.

Himanshu Gupta, owner of a house in the area, said, “As per the District Town Planning Wing plan, 1971, this area is no longer a park and it supercedes all previous plans.”

Deep Kumar, another resident, said, “I purchased a built-up house a few years ago and after that I demolished that house. Now I an re-constructing the house for myself. If it was a park, why a house was built at the site earlier as well.”

Also, the owner said they had shown all the details to the MC commissioner. Rubbishing the charge that he had broken the locks, he said he himself had given them the keys to open the locked house.

The owners alleged that Onkar Singh was levelling false allegations against them. Onkar Singh, it may be mentioned, had filed a writ petition in the High Court stating that the houses were being built on MC park land.
