Kolkata A representative of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development visited La Martinere School for Boys on Wednesday to probe the suicide case of Rouvanjit Rawla.

Ramesh Bhattacharya, member, HRD Ministry’s Department of Secondary and Higher Education, was accompanied by Anthony Arun Biswas, chairman, All-India Minority and Weaker Sections Council, and Dilip Dutta, deputy secretary (retired) School Education.

“We will also visit the guardians. We have asked the school to submit a report and will consider the opinion of all sides neutrally before submitting our report in the matter,” said Bhattacharya, who was in the school from 3.30 pm to 5 pm.

Among those to be quizzed today were school principal Sunimal Chakraborty and secretary Supriya Dhar.

“We were asked about the action we have taken on the issue. We are likely to submit a report to the team by the end of this week,” said Dhar.

Bhattacharya is likely to visit the house of Ajay Rawla, father of Rouvanjit, on Thursday.

The probe team will submit its report to Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal.
