HSC/SSC topper will get crown worth

A Topper in SSC/HSC examination in Pimpri-Chinchwad will be richer by Rs one lakh. He or she will get a diamond-studded crown worth Rs one lakh and a Pentium 4 Computer as well. This first of its kind initiative has come from Superb Welfare Communication, an Akurdi-based organisation and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Nationalist Congress. "We will also award 18 other outstanding students with latest Pentium 4 Computer," said PCMC corporator Javed Sheikh, who heads the organisation. The objective behind introducing the scheme, said Sheikh, was to encourage students who will appear for the board exams to put in their might. "It has been our constant endeavour to create a favourable education atmosphere in Pimpri-Chinchwad. We want to spread education and encourage youngsters to go for higher studies," he said. To avail of this prize scheme, a student will require to register their names with the organisation. The prize distribution will take place in July. Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar will be invited for the function, Sheikh said.
