Chandigarh When Bollywood Director Satish Kaushik met senior officials of the Chandigarh Administration on Thursday, he reaffirmed his claim over the Filmcity project.

“Dream project is more precious than hundreds of crores,” Kaushik is reported to have told the top brass of the Administration.

While talking to Newsline, Kaushik said, “I spoke at length with the concerned senior officials. The UT Adviser, Home Secretary and Finance Secretary were cordial and gave me a patient hearing. I explained that it was my concept plan and presentation which got Parsvnath the prestigious Filmcity project.”

He added, “If anybody backs out from the project, why should my dream suffer. I am still positive on starting the Filmcity in Chandigarh.”

Parsvnath, the real-estate giant, has already moved a representation to the Chandigarh Administration, opting out of the project and has even demanded a refund of its initial deposit of Rs 47.75 crore with penal interest from the Administration.

The Administration is also said to be inclined towards terminating its ties with the developer and scrapping the project for the time being.

While Finance Secretary Sanjay Kumar had recommended cancellation of ties with Parsvnath, Pradeep Mehra, Adviser to the Administrator, put his foot down and recommended a CBI probe into the conceptualisation and allotment of the Filmcity project to Parsvnath.

Also, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has summoned all the records pertaining to the Filmcity’s conceptualisation and allotment, while initiating a thorough probe in the three ‘controversial’ mega projects in the city, including Medicity and Amusement-cum-Theme Park.

Officials with the Administration maintained that till the CVC is through with its probe, the projects stand halted.
