Kolkata, January 31 The ICICI group wants to have academic tie-ups with the state’s prominent universities in order to offer “tailored” courses that can help students find jobs in the financial sector.

Executive Director Sonjoy Chatterjee met Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee

at the Writers’ Building and discussed possible academic ventures.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Chatterjee said tie-ups are possible with the Calcutta University, Jadavpur University and Burdwan University.

He added that the participation in the state’s education sector by the group will be in the form of offering courses.

He didn’t specify whether the courses will be certificates, diplomas or at some other level. “We have taken up similar projects successfully in Karnataka,” he said.
