Mumbai In a keenly contested Champions Cup final, ICICI Bank lost just two wickets in chasing down their target of 143 to retain the trophy in the Castrol Magnatec Corporate Cricket League (CCL) 2008-09 at the Western Railway ground. The Championship which is established as the premier corporate cricket championship had attracted 32 teams and witnessed 78 matches.

ICICI put up a supreme performance thanks to an all-round performance by BlackBerry Bold Man of the Match Avinash Rane, who scored a robust unbeaten 79 and also took two crucial wickets. Batting first, Deutsche Bank made a promising start and the opening pair of Manndar Ponkshe and Amit Narvekar rattled up 60 runs in 8 overs. But a crucial run-out of Amit Narvekar slowed down proceedings for Deutsche Bank and they started faltering at every stage and could only manage a poor 142 for 7. And ICICI bank cruised to their target in the 18th over.

In the Salver Category, Team Castrol scored a convincing win over Tata AIG. Castrol notched up an impressive 192 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs thanks to an unbeaten 52 by BlackBerry Bold Man of the Match, Vijay Sakpal, which came off just 24 balls. While chasing this target Tata AIG capitulated and were bowled out for a paltry 99 runs.
