Both the institutes — ICL Institute of Engineering and Technology and ICL Institute of Management and Technology — are coming up under the ICL Hi-tech Educational Society. The institutes will be built on a 25-acre plot, of which, construction on 11 acres is already complete.
The total number of seats for the engineering institute is 240 and for management is 60.
“We are trying to focus on job-oriented courses in association with the top companies. We have already tied up with companies like Wipro Ltd, Hewlett Packard and Blue Star for organising training and recruitment programmes,” said Sanjeev Chadha, President of the ICL Hi-Tech Educational Society.
“We will not be following the traditional system of engineering and management institutes. We are planning to launch courses based on the ‘earn while you learn’ concept. This will help students earn from real life projects while studying,” he added.
Plans are afoot to introduce courses in MCA, PGDM, education, dental, polytechnic and pharmacy and hospitality management.
“After 2-3 years, we plan to convert our institutes into a dean university approved by the UGC,” said Ravinder Kakkar, Secretary of the ICL Hi-tech Educational Society.
Detailing the eligibility and the fee structure of the institutes, Ravinder Kakkar said the students will have to appear in the AIEEE exam while the fee structure is yet to be decided on the norms laid down by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
