Idea Verve kicks off

Pune, February 8 Idea Verve ’08, organised by The Indian Express Group, kicked off in a formal function on February 8 at S P College grounds. Verve, the biggest intercollegiate youth festival in the city, was inaugurated at 10 am on Friday. Present at the function included chief guests Manoj Kumar, marketing head, Idea Cellular and Dr Sunil Radkar, vice chairman, Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. The three-day fest was inaugurated by the lighting of a lamp.

After its launch in 1996, Verve has ever since been the pioneer of youth fests in Pune.

Day One saw several events kickstarted, including the music competition Saaz, as well as words’ worth, mad-ads, road plays and much more. On the basis of their performances on Day One, finalists and semifinalists will be chosen to showcase their talent in the days to come.
