IIM-A holds its second Doctoral Colloquium

Ahmedabad Poverty eradication through profitable ventures, cooperate management in financial institutions and human resource management in mergers and acquisitions are some of the issues that will be addressed at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad's (IIM-A’s) 2nd Doctoral Colloquium, which began on Monday. The two-day initiative, which was started in January 2008 by the students of the Fellow Program in Management (FPM), the doctoral programme of IIM-A, brings together 50 students and 10 faculty members of E M Lyon Business School, France, Kellogg School of Management, USA, London Business School, IIM-C, MDI, XLRI, IISc Bangalore, ISI Delhi, IRMA, IIT-M, BITS and TISS. Stressing upon the need for management research in India, the colloquium includes a panel discussion on 'Industry Academia Collaboration for Research'. Besidess, full time doctoral students will make presentations on their thesis topics. Some of these topics include 'Joint ventures as drivers of cooperate innovation', ' Inter-Relationship of India's economic development with global carbon market' and 'The dynamics of the Bid-Ask spread in an order driven market'.
