“To create such an environment, it is important that talent is recognised and rewarded in time,” Kumar said while delivering the fourth Dr Lalita Iyer-AMA memorial lecture here.
She said that while efforts are being made to enhance performance, seldom does one try to figure out the reasons for non-performance. “There are several reasons why one stops performing, which needs to be realised and addressed to,”Kumar said. “I propose that the companies have a budget for turning non-performers into performers,” she added. She further said that with the economy opening up, the severity of competition as well as the areas of risks would grow, and it is here that human resources would play a vital role in the growth of the organisations.
