Professor of Geography at Himachal Pradesh University J C Sharma was sworn in as Member, Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC), on Friday. HPPSC Chairman Major General (Retd) C M Sharma administered the oath of office to J C Sharma in the presence of Chief Secretary Asha Swarup.

Shimla mayoral polls on December 4
SHIMLA:
Election to the offices of the mayor and the deputy mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation has been fixed for December 4, when the two-and-a-half-year term of the present incumbents comes to an end. The election would be held in the Town Hall of the MC after 2 pm, said Director, Urban Development, Rajneesh Kumar. The post of mayor is reserved for a woman candidate in the next term. ENS
