Chandigarh The last wish of a 45-year-old woman who died at the PGI on Saturday was fulfilled today as her body was donated for helping those in need.

According to the wishes of Paramjit Kaur, who died following a lung disease, her eyes were donated to the PGI while her body was donated to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, for research purposes.

Kamaljit Singh, the husband of the deceased, said, “We are followers of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa, many of whose members have pledged to donate their organs. My wife felt that donating her organs after her death would serve the humanitarian cause.”

He added, “The PGI agreed to use her eyes and we asked the GMCH to take her body.”
