In Ghaziabad, family robbed of Rs 20 lakh

Ghaziabad An amount of Rs 20 lakh was looted from a family in yet another case of robbery in Ghaziabad. Sunder, a resident of Gujar Gadi, Ghaziabad, was going to Dadri with his wife Savitri and son Subhash. “Six men started following them on two bikes near Massorie area of Ghaziabad till the Ghaziabad-Dadri border,” said L Ravi Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ghaziabad. The victims alleged that when they reached the border, the men attacked them, beat them up and took away the money.

Initially, the Ghaziabad police refused to register a complaint as the incident took place at the border. Later, however, a case was registered in Masoorie police station.

The SSP added, “Someone from the family itself planned the robbery. We will recover the looted amount soon.”
