Day two at Fundamental 09, the annual fest of SID, was a potpourri of beats, brains and creativity

Living up to the theme – extreme expansion and compression, the second day at Fundamental 09, the annual fest of Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) witnessed a plethora of events, from a 90-minute treasure hunt to Mad Ads and from Bhukkad to Moovit – the dance competition. According to Smriti Mehrotra, student, SID, "Every funda has a mental side and this is what the annual fest is based upon. This year, we also had the MTV Wassup team coming and interacting with the students."

One of the major attractions of the day was Headjustments, in which students were required to do various hairstyles with the help of props provided. With straws, paper clips and colourful feathers, students had a gala time designing each other’s hairdos. "In another competition named Megastructures, students were to create huge structures out of small objects such as toothpicks, paperclips and so on," said Mrinalini Sarkar, student.

It was a moment of excitement for the foodies who explored the extreme side of their eating capacities in Bhukkad, the eating competition in which the participants were supposed to eat as many rasgullas as possible. A photography competition organized by Better Photography was another highlight of the day's events. What concluded the day two at Fundamental 09 was Moovit, the dance competition that witnessed students from colleges across the city setting the stage ablaze with their scintillating dance numbers on fusion, trance, Bollywood music and traditional Indian music. SID's performance, an amalgamation of lavni, bhangra and garba won the hearts of many. The judges for the dance competition were Hrishikesh Pawar and Rocky Poonawalla. The results of the events will be declared today.
