Infant dies, four injured as wall collapses in West Delhi colony

New Delhi An eight-month-old infant was killed and four other members of a family suffered minor injuries after the wall of their house collapsed in the Baljeet Nagar area of West Delhi.

Police said the incident was reported on Saturday night at 9.40 pm. “The exact reason for the collapse is not yet known. Locals called in the fire brigade when a part of a dwelling in lane number 5 of the Punjabi Basti collapsed. Three tenders were rushed to the spot along with local disaster management officials,” the police said.

The deceased girl was identified as Shilpi. Police said the four others of the family injured in the incident were identified as Govind (4), Uma (3) Anil Kumar (18), and Reena (28), mother of the four. The injured were admitted to the Kalawati Saran Hospital and were discharged after preliminary medication.
