New Delhi An intelligence input received two days before the Republic Day by the Multi-Agency Centre at the Delhi Police headquarters has warned of three Pakistan nationals and an Indian national entering the Capital to allegedly disrupt Republic Day celebrations or to target important installations here.

A senior Special Cell officer said they received the input about the three Pakistan nationals and the Indian national, identified as Mohammed Hashim Khan, from the Intelligence Bureau on Friday, and the information was immediately passed onto the authorities concerned. “A letter was sent to the Delhi Police’s Special Cell,” a senior police officer said.

Sources said that a copy of the letter was also sent to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) branch of the Delhi Police, as they are responsible for scrutinising the identity of foreign nationals visiting the country. Deputy Commissioner of Police (FRRO) Rajesh Khurana was unavailable for comments despite repeated attempts.

Senior Delhi Police officers said that after receiving the inputs, an alert has been sounded and the police are investigating the matter further.

Meanwhile, according to an input received earlier by the central district police, intercepted conversations of terrorist organisations LeT, HM, HuM and JeM revealed that some terrorist modules were active in and around Delhi. These may include some local elements as well.

Inputs also suggested that some unscrupulous elements might indulge in violent activities to disrupt Republic Day celebrations at the Red Fort.
