The Internal assessment was introduced in the department in 2006. The students had to pass in the aggregate marks comprising of both theory and internal assessment marks. However, it was decided that the students would have to pass separately in the internal assessment and theory papers from the ongoing academic session.
Moreover, there are no provisions of reappear for a student who fails in the internal assessment. A great deal of confusion prevails over the issue.
The syndicate will also discuss the conduct of the LLB entrance exam in Hindi medium also. A meeting of the faculty members of University Institute of Legal Studies in January had decided that entrance must be conducted in Hindi and English.
A committee has been constituted by the PU Vice-Chancellor to discuss the modalities for providing 25 per cent weightage to the marks obtained in Class XII and 75 per cent weightage to the score of Common Entrance Test.
The issue will also be discussed at the syndicate meeting. The meeting will also consider the representation of MCA students regarding fee structure of the project. The issue of adjustment of tuition fee and other charges for the students of UIET and UILS will also be discussed.
