Mumbai, February 8 Oshiwara police are conducting further enquires in the death of suicide of actor Kunal Singh — a struggling actor who was found hanging from the ceiling fan on Wednesday night at his Oshiwara residence.

“We are conducting enquiries in the matter. We will be questioning few people who knew the victim, including those who were a part of the under-production film that Kunal was involved in. However, nothing can be disclosed at this point of time,” said Senior Police Inspector Kiran Sonone of the Oshiwara police station. According to the police, SIngh had attempted suicide by slashing his wrists couple of months back as he was depressed.

Singh, 30, was found hanging by his associate and friend Lavina Singh who was present at the time of incident at his residence in ‘Windmere’ building in Oshiwara, which is right opposite the Oshiwara police station. According to the police, Singh had invited five people, including Lavina, at his residence to discuss his forthcoming movie titled Yogi. Lavina — daughter of Pankaj Bhatia, with whose collaboration Singh was launching the movie — was supposed to debut in the movie as a heroine.

The meeting ended at 9:15 pm. Police officials said after the meeting, four others left while Lavina stayed back. She went to the bathroom to freshen up and when she came out she saw Singh’s body hanging by a bed sheet from a ceiling fan. A shocked Lavina informed the building security who summoned the police.

According to ACP Dilip Suryavanshi, “Singh’s wife Anuradha has alleged that Lavina was involved in a relationship with Kunal. However, Lavina has denied the allegations against her and we are considering this angle for the motive behind committing suicide.”
