Jaipal claims gold on opening day

SAS Nagar, February 25 Jaipal Singh of Nalagarh House won the gold medal in boys’ u-16 shot put event in the 29th Annual Athletics Meet of Yadvindra Public School which started at the school premises on Monday.

Jagdeep Singh of Nalagarh House claimed the silver medal in the same event while Rajdeep Singh of Patiala House bagged the bronze medal.

In the final of boys’ under-14 javelin throw event, Vaibhav Singh of Nalagarh House claimed the gold medal. In the 800 meters race for boys’ under-14, Prithiviraj Singh of Tagore House raced to glory by winning the gold medal while Sahil Sharma of Ranjit House clinched the silver medal. The bronze medal went to Mehnaz Chahal of Patiala House.

In the final of girls’ above-15 broad jump event, Dilshad of Nalagarh House claimed the gold medal while Vasundhara of Patiala House bagged the silver medal. Ravinderpreet of Patiala House claimed the bronze medal. In the girls’ 800 metres race event, Aanchal Bajwa of Nalagarh House claimed the gold medal while Navdeep Dhillon of Ranjit House bagged the silver medal. The third spot was won by Vasundhara of Patiala House.

Earlier, the meet started with a march past by the contingents of five house- Patiala, Aitchison, Nalagrah, Ranjit and Tagore. Mohammed Wasim, sports captain of the school took the oath on behalf of all the students.
