Lucknow To paint a youth-friendly image and hoping to reach out to youngsters, the Bhartiya Janata Party national general secretary, Arun Jaitley, will be launching the UP chapter of “Friends of BJP” in Lucknow on Saturday.

Aiming to mobilise the first-time voters, this programme is a part of the Advani@campus initiative.

The programme is being organised at the Madhav Sabhagaar, where large number of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh and VHP members are expected to be present apart from the BJP Lucknow Mahanagar team and poll in-charges from several constituencies.

The party’s poll management team will keep feeding important details about the major candidates and clips of their day-to-day speeches to the UP team of the “Friends of BJP” led by Khushal Bhargava. This is Jaitley’s first visit to the state since the notification of polls.

Apart from the launch function on Saturday, Jaitley will be holding a review of the preparations for the first phase, after which he would be meeting the team members of the “Friends of BJP”.

Jaitley will also hold a meeting with the lawyers’ associations at Hotel Clarks in Awadh. After the launch function, he is expected to leave for Delhi.

Jaitley will be back to the state on April 7. He will be campaigning for the party’s candidate in Allahabad, where he will attend the workers’ convention and a public meeting for the local candidate Yogesh Shukla.

On April 8, he will address public meetings at Maharajganj, Khalilabad, Lalganj and Azamgarh.
