Mumbai Top seed Javed Mohammad of Jindal quite easily overcame Bhavik Thakkar of Matunga Gymkhana 11-6, 11-2 to book his quarterfinal berth in the boys’under-19 category in the DHFL Junior Open Squash Tournament at the Matunga Gymkhana on Friday.

On a day, where most of the seeded players enjoyed easy outings, second seed Aakash Borwankar of MCS, Borivali joined Mohammad in the quarter-finals following a 11-1, 11-3 win over Ashrath Mohammad of Jindal Squash Academy in a second-round encounter.

Wqar Pathan, Rahil Fazelbhoy, Samir Mistry and Pranay Merchant also advanced comfortably into the quarterfinals. Kahan Gandhi also won easily against Pranav Peety.
